This is an original Czech VZ58 rifle hand guard with a mounted Picatinny Weaver style rail. The rail is made from Dural (duraluminum) that is a special hard aluminum that has a special heat treated enamel surface coating. The rails has been specially made for us by a local machine shop and has been professionally mounted.  This is a reproduction of a rubber buttplate pad for the VZ58 folding stock. These items were not used by the Czech army but were used by the border guards that were part of the ministry of the interior. The main use for them was so the end of the folding stock does not slide on the fabric of the uniform when the rifle was shouldered. The border guards and police wore uniforms that were primarily or artificial fabric blends that would let the metal buttplate slide a lot more than on the cotton blend military combat uniforms. The item is a Czech made reproduction. The originals are rather hard to find so I had reproductions made. The pouch will hold 2 of the 20 round magazines in the original 32 ACP (7.65mm) caliber. yes it is the original issue package it came in with a sticker of the manufacturer. On the inside the tag also shows the manufacturers name, year of manufacture, the weapon it is designated for and the crossed swords signifying military designation and property.
